This Wattle Negative stencil by De Gillett Cox is engineered for artists and makers who demand precision across diverse creative disciplines—mixed media, furniture restoration, wall installations, textile work, and beyond.
The negative design technique allows you to build sophisticated compositions through strategic layering and pattern manipulation.
Manufactured from premium Mylar, this stencil offers the structural integrity required for professional applications. Its inherent flexibility accommodates curved surfaces and irregular substrates, while its robust composition resists wear across repeated use on textiles, wood, plaster, and other materials.
Maintenance is straightforward; the non-porous Mylar surface rinses clean instantly, preserving edge definition and ensuring consistent registration with each application.
The botanical motif—rendered with botanical authenticity—provides a sophisticated foundation for layered artistic exploration. Whether refining complex multi-stencil compositions or executing single-pass applications, this tool delivers the durability and performance expected in serious creative practice.

Stencil Washing and Care Instructions
To ensure the longevity and accuracy of your stencil, please clean it immediately after use.
-
Remove excess medium
While paint or texture paste is still wet, gently scrape excess material from the stencil using a palette knife, working from the centre outward. -
Immerse flat in water
Place the stencil flat into a tub of clean water.
Do not bend or fold the stencil. -
Gently clean under water
While submerged, use a soft brush to gently dislodge remaining paint or paste.
Avoid aggressive scrubbing. -
Rinse thoroughly
Rinse under clean, running water until all residue is removed. -
Dry flat
Lay the stencil flat or hang fully supported to dry. Ensure it remains flat while drying. -
Do not crease
Creasing or folding will permanently distort the stencil.
Always use a tub large enough to allow the stencil to lie completely flat during washing.
Important Care Notes
- Do not allow paint or paste to dry on the stencil.
- Do not use hot water, solvents, or abrasive tools.
- Proper care will ensure crisp results and a long working life.
